Silva Botánica is a small batch skin care line created by Alex Silva.

Alex has been obsessed with skincare and the power of plants from a young age. Some of Alex’s favorite memories from childhood center around the year her family spent back in their homeland of Colombia. It was that year that she first learned of her love for all things plants, she would quietly take long walks exploring all the fruiting trees and herbs that surrounded her uncle’s farm. The following year her family moved back to the States and she took all that quiet energy, channelling it into making art and reading, soon becoming a serious Scholastic Book Club Member. It was through her membership that she found a little book on skincare, it taught her about the skin, skin care routines and natural recipes for every day scenarios. She bought that book at the tender age of 8 and it’s still one of her most coveted possessions. 

It wasn’t only that year in Colombia or her little skincare book that instilled this way of life, it also came from her mother. Her mother took Alex to get her first facial at the age of 12, supported her choice in becoming plant based at 16, even joining her on the journey. During inexplicable moments of malaise her mother introduced her to Chinese Medicine and it's powerful herbs, when Alex and her siblings broke out during puberty her mother would make them green juices to aid in the healing of their skin, showing them that healing happens internally and externally. These qualities of self care, skin care and natural remedies are still practiced in the Silva household. 

We at Silva Botánica believe in a natural and holistic approach to skincare and wellness, we hope that you will join us on this journey. Our long term dream is to come full circle and have our own farm where we can we grow all our botanicals and share even more magic with you.
